Frequently asked questions

Have questions? We have answers.

What is VoiceQC?
VoiceQC is a tool to transcribe batches of short spoken language audio files and match the transcriptions to existing scripts. Features include ways of tagging groups of files or individual files to organize projects, file groupings, and tagging individual files for any reason. These are fully customizable
How does the audio upload process work?
Simply drag and drop your audio files or click to browse. VoiceQC supports multiple file formats and bulk uploads. Once uploaded, our system automatically begins processing your files, and you can track progress in real-time through our dashboard.
What audio formats are supported?
VoiceQC supports all major audio formats including MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, and more.
How accurate is the transcription?
In our own experience transcription accuracy for U.S English has been excellent. However, this depends on accents, sound quality, types of words used, and other aspects of speech that might lower the accuracy. We don't yet have experience with other languages, but look forward to hearing about these experiences and address any feedback.
Is my data secure?
Yes, we take security seriously. All audio files and transcriptions are encrypted in transit and at rest. We use enterprise-grade security measures and comply with industry standards. Your data is never shared with third parties.
Can multiple team members collaborate?
The short answer is not yet. However, we have already built the foundation to enable a sophisticated sharing system for teams and outside collaborators. Stay tuned for announcements about this feature.
How long does transcription take?
Processing time varies based on file length and current system load along with your internet upload speed to transfer the files to our servers. Typically, a 60-minute audio file is transcribed within 5-10 minutes. You'll receive real-time updates on progress and notifications when processing is complete. You can also start a batch import of files and then move on to doing other things on the site while the transcription is being completed.
Do you support multiple languages?
We currently support over 50 languages, however we only have experience with U.S English. Also, the site itself is only in English currently, but we will enable multi-language support on our site at some point in the future.
